How to recover from a common cold

As the weather starts to get colder, it’s easier to catch a minor cold or get a runny nose. If you are not so keen on taking medicine with the slightest inconvenience but prefer to allow your body to heal itself, what follows is some good advice to help you get over a cold as quickly as possible.

The first thing to do is give your body some time to rest while staying warm. Saving your energy allows your body to focus on fighting the cold by even simply cuddling with your favourite blanket on the couch.

Don’t forget to drink loads of liquids, especially warm ones. If you don’t want to just drink water, have a hot cup of tea out of many different flavours and herbs you can choose from. You can also add some lemon, ginger and honey to your tea and give it an extra flavour boost that will also help accelerate the healing process.

Additionally, use the right facial tissues. If you have a runny nose it’s better to use some facial tissues and blow it regularly. It is important to choose good quality facial tissues that are soft and will not create any irritations to your nose and skin. Our facial tissues are soft yet durable enough to not tear apart easily.

In case of a sore throat, create your own mouthwash by warming up 250ml of water and adding half a teaspoon of salt. This can help sooth your sore throat in the simplest way.

Last but not least, have loads of soups. There is nothing more satisfying than enjoying a warm soup that will not only help clear up the congestion but will also add some vital nutrients to your body.
